Michael Jinkins’s Art of Contemplation

This exhibition features over two dozen of Michael Jinkins’ recent paintings, most of which have not been publicly shown. Michael draws from a rich tapestry of artistic traditions, finding his principal inspiration in the American abstract expressionist movement, notably in works of luminaries such as Mark Rothko and Jackson Pollock. However, his oeuvre transcends conventional boundaries, incorporating elements of post-Impressionism and evoking echoes of J. M. W. Turner’s majestic landscapes and seascapes. For Michael, painting is more than an aesthetic pursuit; it is a spiritual practice, inviting viewers to engage in contemplation and to immerse themselves in the mysteries of existence.

Jeff Mead’s Profound Reverence for the Natural World

The exhibition will also feature the sculpture of Jeff Mead, characterized by a profound reverence for nature and a commitment to sustainability. Mead specializes in crafting sculptural vessels from locally salvaged wood, with all materials sourced from trees felled by storms and requiring emergency removal. Embracing the imperfections and unique characteristics of each piece of wood allows the material itself to guide his creative process.
